$45 Million Walmart Weighed Groceries Class Action Settlement

How Much Can You Receive?

Your payout depends on how many qualifying weighed grocery or citrus items you bought between October 19, 2018 and January 19, 2024 — and whether you have receipts:

Without Proof of Purchase:

  • $10 – For 1–50 items

  • $15 – For 51–75 items

  • $20 – For 76–100 items

  • $25 – For 101+ items

With Proof of Purchase:

  • Up to $500 – Based on 2% of your total spending on eligible items

All class members are eligible for compensation. Proof is only required if claiming over $25.

About

If you purchased meat, seafood, or citrus fruit sold by weight from any Walmart store (Supercenter, Neighborhood Market, or standard Walmart) between Oct. 19, 2018 and Jan. 19, 2024, you may be entitled to cash from a $45 million class action settlement.

The lawsuit claimed that Walmart overcharged customers by listing lower sticker prices but charging higher prices at checkout — especially for weighed items like chicken, pork, beef, seafood, and bagged fruits.

Walmart denies wrongdoing, but has agreed to settle to avoid further litigation.
