What happened
Frontier Airlines, Inc. ("Frontier"), the ultra-low-cost carrier headquartered in Denver, Colorado, discovered unauthorized activity affecting an employee-related account and took immediate steps to secure the environment. Frontier's investigation concluded that personal information contained in the affected account could have been accessed. According to the company's filings, state regulators in Texas and Massachusetts received formal breach notifications on July 14, 2026, and notification letters were mailed to affected individuals five days earlier, on July 9, 2026.
Frontier's filings identify 706 affected individuals, comprising 679 residents of Texas and 27 residents of Massachusetts. Unlike many breach notices, the letter itemizes the categories of information involved, which may include first and last name, Social Security number, address and contact information, phone number, date of birth, place of birth, driver's license or state ID number, passport or visa number, government-issued ID number, and Frontier employee ID number. Frontier is offering complimentary credit-monitoring and identity-protection services through Experian IdentityWorks, although the enrollment duration was not specified in the state notice.
Because the exposed information reportedly included Social Security numbers and passport or visa numbers, affected team members may face an elevated and long-term risk of identity theft and fraud.
