Background

What happened

Joyal Financial Management Group, LLC is an independent financial planning, insurance, and estate planning firm based at 50 Resnik Road in Plymouth, Massachusetts, whose financial professionals are licensed with Osaic Wealth, Inc. for the sale of securities and financial advice. On July 29, 2026, the firm reported a data security incident to the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General and began mailing written notice to affected individuals. According to the reported filing, 2,441 individuals were notified that their personal information may have been involved.

The information reported as involved includes individuals' names in combination with Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, financial account information, and medical information. The notice letter does not state when the unauthorized activity occurred, when the firm discovered it, or what caused it, so the length of the gap between discovery and notification cannot be calculated from the public record. Affected individuals are being offered a complimentary two-year membership with Epiq Privacy Solutions, which includes credit monitoring at all three bureaus, Social Security number and dark web monitoring, identity restoration services, and up to $1,000,000 in identity theft expense reimbursement insurance.

Because the reported data set combines Social Security numbers with financial account details and medical information, the exposure carries an elevated and long-lasting risk of identity theft, tax fraud, account takeover, and medical or insurance fraud. Dapeer Law is evaluating whether the firm's data security practices before the incident were reasonable, whether the categories of information it retained were adequately safeguarded, and whether the response and notification met the requirements of applicable state breach notification laws.

Place a fraud alert or credit freeze

Contact Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion to place a fraud alert or freeze on your file. Request a free weekly credit report from AnnualCreditReport.com, and use the FTC's IdentityTheft.gov recovery guide. FAQ

Common questions

I received a data breach letter from Joyal Financial Management Group. What should I do? +

Keep the letter, activate the free two-year Epiq Privacy Solutions membership before the deadline printed in your notice, and review your bank, credit card, brokerage, and insurance statements for activity you did not authorize. Request your free credit reports at annualcreditreport.com or by calling 1-877-322-8228, and consider a fraud alert or a security freeze with Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. Because Social Security numbers and medical information were reported as involved, also watch for unfamiliar tax filings and Explanation of Benefits letters for care you did not receive. Report suspected identity theft to the Federal Trade Commission at identitytheft.gov, and contact a data breach attorney for a free consultation. Enrolling in credit monitoring does not waive your right to sue.

Am I eligible to join a class action against Joyal Financial Management Group? +

If you received a breach notice from Joyal Financial Management Group dated on or after July 29, 2026, you are likely eligible for a free case evaluation.
