What happened
Palm Bay International, Inc. reported that it detected suspicious activity affecting its internal network on June 16, 2025. According to the company, it responded by resetting passwords, restoring systems from backups, temporarily restricting remote access, increasing endpoint monitoring, notifying law enforcement, and retaining outside cybersecurity specialists. A forensic investigation later concluded that an unauthorized party accessed the network and obtained certain files during a limited period on that same day.
The company did not notify state regulators or affected individuals until September 14, 2026, roughly 15 months after it says it discovered the incident. In its filing with the Massachusetts Attorney General, Palm Bay International reported that 53 Massachusetts residents were affected. The notice states that the information involved may have included Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, credit or debit card numbers, financial account information, and medical information. Palm Bay International is offering 24 months of complimentary Experian IdentityWorks monitoring, including identity restoration services, with an enrollment deadline of December 31, 2026.
The combination of Social Security numbers, payment card data, financial account details, and medical information is among the more sensitive data sets disclosed in a corporate breach notice.
