What happened
On March 3, 2026, RXNT became aware of unauthorized activity within one of the software solutions it provides to healthcare organizations. Working with outside cybersecurity experts, the company moved to contain the activity, confirmed that the unauthorized actor had been removed from the environment, and notified law enforcement. RXNT's investigation determined that between March 1 and March 3, 2026, an unauthorized actor obtained certain data stored on its systems. The incident was reported to the California Attorney General on May 29, 2026.
RXNT then conducted a review of the affected data to identify the individuals involved and began mailing notice letters on May 1, 2026, roughly two months after the activity was discovered. According to the notice, the affected data may have included your name, date of birth, and Social Security number. The company states that no payment card, bank account, or other financial information was involved, and that it is not aware of any identity theft or fraud tied to the incident. RXNT arranged complimentary credit monitoring through Epiq Privacy Solutions for affected individuals.
Because RXNT supplies electronic prescribing, practice management, and electronic health record software to healthcare providers, the people whose information was involved are largely patients of those providers. The exposure of Social Security numbers and dates of birth can carry a long-term risk of identity theft, and the involvement of data held by a health-sector vendor may raise questions under federal and state privacy laws. Dapeer Law is evaluating whether affected individuals have claims and what categories of data and individuals were ultimately affected.

Keep your breach notice letter, and enroll in the complimentary Epiq Privacy Solutions credit monitoring using the activation code it contains before the stated deadline. Review your credit reports and account statements for any unfamiliar activity, consider placing a fraud alert or security freeze with the credit bureaus, and keep records of any out-of-pocket costs or time you spend protecting your identity. Am I eligible to join a class action against RXNT? +
If you received a notice from RXNT dated on or around May 1, 2026, or you later learn your information was part of the March 2026 incident, you may qualify to participate. How much money could I receive from a class action lawsuit? +
Data breach class action recoveries vary significantly. Settlements typically range from a few hundred dollars for basic out-of-pocket losses to several thousand dollars for documented identity theft, with class size, damages, and negotiation all affecting the final amount. No payout is guaranteed, and this investigation has not yet resulted in a settlement.
What personal information was exposed in the breach? +
The notice states the affected data may have included name, date of birth, and Social Security number, and that no payment card, bank account, or other financial information was involved. Because the exact data elements can vary by individual, you should check your own letter for the specifics that apply to you.
Did RXNT offer free credit monitoring? +
Yes. RXNT arranged complimentary access to Epiq Privacy Solutions ID 1-bureau credit monitoring for affected individuals, for up to 24 months depending on the offer in your letter. How many people were affected by the RXNT breach? +
RXNT's California filing does not state the total number of affected individuals. This page will be updated as more information becomes public.
Is there a deadline to take legal action? +
Yes. Statutes of limitations for data breach claims vary by state and legal theory, typically ranging from one to six years. Waiting can permanently bar your claim. Contact us as soon as possible for a free evaluation.
How do I get a copy of the official breach notice? +
RXNT's notice was filed with the California Attorney General, and a copy is available through the California Attorney General's data breach notification portal. Dapeer Law can also help you obtain a copy during a free consultation.
