CAMC Bariatric Hiatal Hernia Class Action Settlement
Charleston Area Medical Center and Dr. Robert B. Shin agreed to a $40 million settlement over hiatal hernia repairs performed during bariatric surgeries. Eligible patients automatically share a $30 million fund, or can instead claim from a $10 million complications fund by December 14, 2026.
