DOJ has reopened the Western Union remission process and extended the eligible transfer window to Jan. 1, 2004 through March 9, 2020. Victims of grandparent, lottery/sweepstakes, romance, and other Western Union wire-fraud scams can file a Petition for Remission by Aug. 19, 2026.
