Background

What happened in the Comprehensive data breach

On February 12, 2026, Comprehensive discovered unauthorized activity related to its network, according to its notice letter. The company says it engaged third-party specialists to investigate and learned that certain files were accessed by an unauthorized third party. The letter does not say when the unauthorized activity began or ended.

The letter says the review completed on June 17, 2026; the New Hampshire filing gives August 5, 2026. Its notice letter is dated October 26, 2026, more than half a year after the activity was discovered. The letter says the information identified may have included your first and last name together with other data, which the posted sample letter does not show. The Massachusetts filing lists first and last name, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers and medical information. The company is offering complimentary identity protection services and credit monitoring through IDX, with an enrollment deadline of January 26, 2027.

The Massachusetts filing lists 87 Massachusetts residents, and the letter states that 18 Rhode Island residents were impacted. Whether the company's pre-breach security practices met legal standards, and whether the time between discovery and notice caused additional harm, are among the issues being evaluated.
