What happened
Fiesta Insurance Franchise Corporation (Fiesta Insurance) has reported that on or about June 9, 2025, it experienced a data-security incident affecting certain company files. With the assistance of outside cybersecurity professionals, the company conducted a forensic investigation and, on June 26, 2026, determined that some of those files had been subject to unauthorized access or acquisition. Fiesta Insurance reported the incident to the Massachusetts Attorney General on July 13, 2026, and to Texas regulators on July 14, 2026.
According to the company, the information involved varied by individual and may have included names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, and financial account information, including credit or debit card numbers. Regulatory filings state that 12,131 people were affected, 12,097 in Texas and 34 in Massachusetts. Fiesta Insurance began notifying affected individuals and offered complimentary identity-protection services through Experian IdentityWorks Credit 3B. The interval between the June 2025 incident and the July 2026 notifications, roughly thirteen months, is a point our investigation is examining.
Insurance and tax records often combine identity and financial details in a single file, which can heighten the risk of identity theft and fraudulent account activity if that information is exposed. Our investigation focuses on whether Fiesta Insurance used reasonable cybersecurity measures to protect this information before and during the incident.

Common questions
I received a data breach letter from Fiesta Insurance. What should I do? +
Keep your notice letter, since it contains your Experian IdentityWorks enrollment code and documents that your data was involved. Enroll in the offered credit monitoring, place a fraud alert or security freeze on your credit files, and review your bank and credit-card statements for unauthorized activity. Because Social Security numbers and financial account details may have been exposed, monitoring closely is worthwhile. You can also contact a data breach attorney to review your options.
Am I eligible to join a class action against Fiesta Insurance? +
If you received a notice from Fiesta Insurance indicating your Social Security number, driver's license number, or financial account information was involved, you may be eligible to take part in an investigation or lawsuit. Eligibility can depend on your state of residence, the categories of data exposed, and any losses you can document. Contact us for a free case evaluation.
How much money could I receive from a class action lawsuit? +
Data breach class action recoveries vary significantly. Settlements typically range from a few hundred dollars for basic out-of-pocket losses to several thousand dollars for documented identity theft, with class size, damages, and negotiation all affecting the final amount. No payout is guaranteed, and this investigation has not yet resulted in a settlement.
What personal information was exposed in the breach? +
