What happened
Jeffrey David Reuben, M.D. reported a data security incident involving unauthorized access to the practice's network. Affected patients are being offered 24 months of complimentary identity protection and resolution services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company, with enrollment open for 90 days from the date of the letter.
Because Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, and medical information may have been involved, affected patients face a potential risk of identity theft, medical identity theft, and fraudulent claims filed in their names. This combination of data cannot be changed the way a password or a payment card can.
