On April 15, 2026, Los Angeles International Church of Christ detected unauthorized access to its computer network. The organization states that it secured its environment immediately upon detection and engaged outside cybersecurity professionals to investigate. That forensic review determined that an unknown actor accessed certain files on the network between March 19 and April 15, 2026.
The church completed its review of the affected files on August 6, 2026 and began notifying affected individuals on September 11, 2026, when it also filed notice with the Massachusetts Attorney General. That is nearly five months after the intrusion was detected. The Massachusetts filing identifies full name as the data element potentially involved, and does not reference Social Security numbers or financial account information.
