What happened
Larry Flynt's Lucky Lady Casino, operated by Casino, LLC and headquartered at 1045 W Rosecrans Ave. in Gardena, California, reports that it detected unusual activity on certain systems and immediately contained the threat. A forensic investigation determined that, between May 14, 2025 and May 18, 2025, an unauthorized actor accessed servers within the organization's network and removed files containing sensitive information. The casino discovered the activity on May 19, 2025 and notified federal and state law enforcement and the appropriate regulators, including a notice filed with the Maine Attorney General.
The casino began mailing notification letters to affected individuals on June 10, 2026, roughly 13 months after the unauthorized access was discovered. According to the notice, the third-party review determined that the compromised files included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license or state identification numbers, passport numbers, and health insurance information. The company states that it is offering complimentary identity-monitoring services to affected individuals; the provider and the length of coverage are described in the enrollment materials included with each letter.
Because the exposed data includes Social Security numbers, passport numbers, and health insurance information, affected individuals may face an elevated and long-lasting risk of identity theft, financial fraud, and medical-identity misuse. Whether the casino's pre-breach data security practices met legal standards, and whether the lengthy delay between discovery and notification caused additional harm, are among the issues being evaluated.
