What happened
On March 29, 2026, Nickey Kehoe, a Los Angeles-based retailer known for home goods, furniture, and design services, discovered that an unauthorized party had used compromised credentials to send email through Klaviyo, its third-party email service provider, and to export customer data stored in that system. The company disabled the compromised credentials within 24 hours of discovery and states it has not detected any further unauthorized activity.
Nickey Kehoe reported the incident to the California Attorney General on May 26, 2026, roughly two months after discovery. According to the notice, the information involved was limited to basic contact details stored in Klaviyo: name, email address, phone number, and postal address. The company states that no payment systems, transaction history, or account passwords were affected. Nickey Kehoe says it has enhanced its security protocols and processes for accessing Klaviyo.
The notice does not announce a dedicated credit monitoring service. Because the exposed information includes names paired with email addresses, phone numbers, and home addresses, affected customers may face an elevated risk of targeted phishing, text-message scams, and other social-engineering attempts. Whether the company's security practices and vendor controls met legal standards is among the issues being evaluated.
