What happened
Optalis Management Solutions has disclosed that an unauthorized party accessed its network between April 14 and April 19, 2025. The company states that it immediately launched an investigation with outside cybersecurity professionals to determine the extent of any compromise. A comprehensive investigation and document review, which concluded on June 10, 2026, confirmed that certain files were removed from the network during the intrusion.
Optalis reported the incident to the Massachusetts Attorney General on June 29, 2026, and mailed notification letters to affected individuals dated June 25, 2026. According to the notice, the information involved may include full name, Social Security number, driver's license or state identification number, credit or debit card information, financial account information, medical treatment and diagnosis information, and health insurance policy number. The company is offering complimentary identity-theft protection through IDX, including credit and CyberScan monitoring, a $1,000,000 insurance reimbursement policy, and fully managed identity-theft recovery services, with an enrollment deadline of September 25, 2026.
Because the exposed records may combine Social Security numbers and government-issued identifiers with medical treatment, diagnosis, and health-insurance information, affected individuals may face an elevated risk of both financial fraud and medical identity theft. The roughly fourteen-month gap between the April 2025 intrusion and the June 2026 notices, how the incident was discovered, and its underlying cause were not detailed in the public notice, and these remain points Dapeer Law is evaluating.
