What happened
On April 29, 2026, Park Dental Research Corporation ("Park Dental Research"), an Oklahoma-based dental and medical equipment manufacturer, discovered unauthorized activity within its computer systems. An investigation conducted with outside cybersecurity professionals determined that certain files containing personal information were potentially accessed.
Park Dental Research began mailing written notification letters to affected individuals on June 24, 2026, and reported the incident to the Massachusetts Attorney General on June 26, 2026, nearly two months after the activity was discovered. The company is offering 24 months of complimentary credit and CyberScan monitoring through IDX, together with up to $1 million in identity-theft insurance reimbursement and fully managed identity-theft recovery assistance.
According to the notice, the files potentially involved contained a broad set of sensitive data elements, including names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, home addresses, compensation information, bank account details, passport numbers, driver's license numbers, and I-9 documentation. The presence of employment and immigration records suggests current or former employees may be among those affected. Whether the company's pre-breach security practices met legal standards, and whether the notification timeline caused additional harm, are among the issues being evaluated.
