Background

What happened

According to a notice RTX Corporation ("RTX") filed with the Massachusetts Attorney General on July 24, 2026, the company experienced a security incident on June 25, 2026 that involved unauthorized access to certain systems containing personal information. RTX later determined that specific files containing resident data had been accessed.

RTX began mailing written notification letters to affected individuals on July 23, 2026. The notice states that the information involved included first and last name, mailing address, and Social Security number. RTX is offering 24 months of complimentary Equifax Complete Premier identity-protection services, and recipients must enroll using the activation code in their letter before the October 31, 2026 deadline.

RTX reported that a total of 15 Massachusetts residents were affected. Whether the company's pre-breach security practices met legal standards, and whether affected individuals face an ongoing risk of identity theft or financial fraud from the exposure of full Social Security numbers, are among the issues being evaluated.
