Background

What happened in the Skinners Technologies data breach

Skinners Technologies, a company with its registered office in Jacksonville, Florida that sells goods through the online shop at www.skinnersfootwear.com, uses ShipMonk as a third-party fulfillment partner. According to the company's notice to customers, ShipMonk informed Skinners Technologies on August 10, 2026 that an unauthorized third party exploited a vulnerability in an analytics platform ShipMonk uses and gained access to certain customer order records between May 10 and August 8, 2026.

The notice lists the information involved as first and last name, shipping address, email address, phone number, and order number. The New Hampshire filing lists First and Last Name, Shipping Address, Email Address, Phone Number and Order Number. The company's letter to the New Hampshire Attorney General adds that the New Hampshire records include full name, street address, city, state, ZIP code, phone number and order number, that 16 of those records include an email address, and that 5 include a company name. The notice states that Skinners Technologies does not store, and ShipMonk did not have access to, any credit card details, bank account numbers, or account passwords, and describes customers' financial information as safe.

In an October 12, 2026 email to the New Hampshire Attorney General, the company reported 17 affected New Hampshire residents and approximately 2,630 affected individuals in total. The notice does not offer credit monitoring and warns of an increased risk of targeted phishing attacks. Whether reasonable safeguards protected customer data shared with a fulfillment partner, and how long that data was retained, are among the issues being evaluated.
