Background

What happened

According to the notice letter USA DeBusk, LLC filed with the California Attorney General, an unauthorized party gained access to certain company systems on or about September 5, 2025. The company says it blocked the unauthorized party's access, engaged outside cybersecurity experts to investigate, took additional steps to enhance its safeguards, and reported the incident to law enforcement.

On July 6, 2026, that investigation determined that files containing personal information belonging to employees and customers had been obtained. USA DeBusk filed a sample notice letter with the California Attorney General on August 10, 2026 and began mailing letters to affected individuals. The notice states that the information involved varies by individual and may include name, contact information, date of birth, government-issued identification numbers such as Social Security, driver's license, or passport numbers, financial account or payment card information, medical and health-related information, health insurance information, and account usernames and passwords. Recipients are being offered two years of Kroll identity monitoring at no cost, which includes single-bureau credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration.

Roughly ten months passed between the September 2025 intrusion and the July 2026 determination that personal information had been taken. The categories reported in the notice are among the most sensitive that appear in a breach letter, because Social Security numbers, financial account details, health information, and reusable login credentials can support identity theft, account takeover, and medical or insurance fraud for years after the incident. The number of individuals affected has not been publicly disclosed, and the cause of the intrusion is not described in the notice.

What to do if you received a letter

1

Keep your notice letter

Do not discard it. Your letter contains the enrollment code for the Kroll identity monitoring and is important evidence if you decide to participate in a lawsuit.

2

Enroll in the free 24-month Kroll identity monitoring

Enroll in the Kroll monitoring offered in your letter, which includes single-bureau credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity theft restoration, before the activation deadline printed on the notice. Accepting this benefit does not waive your right to pursue legal action.

3

Place a fraud alert or credit freeze

Contact Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion to place a fraud alert or freeze on your file. Request a free weekly credit report from AnnualCreditReport.com, and use the FTC's IdentityTheft.gov recovery guide. Because medical, health insurance, and account login information may be involved, also review your Explanation of Benefits statements for services you did not receive and change any password you reused elsewhere.
