What happened
Rosch Visionary Systems, Inc., a software provider that serves allergy medical practices including Allergy, Asthma & Food Allergy Centers, detected unauthorized access to a portion of its network. Rosch, which is based in Altoona, Pennsylvania, says the incident was confined to its own environment rather than the practice's systems. The dates of the unauthorized access and of its discovery are not stated in the notice that was made public, and the notice indicates that investigators have no evidence at this time that the affected information has been misused.
Notice of the incident was reported to the Massachusetts Attorney General on September 11, 2026, covering 5 Massachusetts residents. A total nationwide figure has not been publicly disclosed, and it is not yet clear how many patients of other allergy practices served by the same vendor were affected. The notice states that the information involved could include medical information and Social Security numbers, and that affected individuals are being offered 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring and fraud assistance through a third-party provider, with enrollment open for 90 days from the date of the letter.
Because the information at issue includes medical records as well as Social Security numbers, the potential consequences extend beyond ordinary financial fraud to the misuse of protected health information and to medical identity theft, which can be slower to detect and harder to unwind. Dapeer Law is evaluating whether the practice and its vendor met their legal obligations to safeguard patient data, and whether the length of time between the intrusion and patient notification supports a claim under applicable state breach notification laws.
