What happened
The Fedcap Group, Inc. (Fedcap) reported to the Massachusetts Attorney General on June 22, 2026 that unauthorized activity had compromised personal information held in its systems. According to the notice, dated June 18, 2026, Fedcap became aware of the event, took steps to investigate and respond, contacted law enforcement, and reviewed the information that may have been affected.
Fedcap began mailing notice letters to affected individuals on June 18, 2026. The company is offering those affected 24 months of complimentary Experian IdentityWorks credit monitoring, which includes monitoring across all three major credit bureaus, fraud detection tools, and identity-restoration assistance. Recipients must enroll by September 30, 2026 using the activation code in their letter. The notice does not state the dates of the incident or when the suspicious activity was first discovered.
The information confirmed as exposed in the regulator filing is a driver's license number. A driver's license number is a government identifier that can be misused for identity theft, synthetic-identity fraud, and impersonation, which is why affected individuals are encouraged to monitor their accounts and consider a credit freeze or fraud alert.
