What happened
Hasbro, Inc., the toy, game, and entertainment company headquartered in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, reported a data security incident to the Massachusetts Attorney General on August 25, 2026. According to the company's notification letter, an unauthorized party gained access to an employee account and, through that account, to information belonging to individuals connected with the company. Contact Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion to place a fraud alert or freeze on your file. Request a free weekly credit report from AnnualCreditReport.com, and use the FTC's IdentityTheft.gov recovery guide. Because a national ID number and financial information were reportedly among the elements involved, you should also place a fraud alert or security freeze with Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion, review your bank and card statements for unauthorized transactions, and watch for unfamiliar tax filings or unemployment claims filed under your Social Security number.
