What happened
Marsicovetere & Levine Law Group, P.C. reported that an unauthorized individual gained access to its network on April 14, 2025. The firm says it secured and contained the network after discovering the activity and engaged outside cybersecurity professionals to conduct a comprehensive forensic review of what happened and what information was affected.
According to the notice filed with the Maine Attorney General on June 11, 2026, the firm confirmed on April 24, 2026 that certain files containing personal information had been removed from its network. Notification letters were issued to affected individuals on June 11, 2026, roughly fourteen months after the intrusion. The firm is offering complimentary identity-monitoring services through Kroll, including credit monitoring, fraud consultation, and identity-theft restoration. The specific categories of personal information involved have not been detailed publicly.
Because the breach involved a law firm's network, affected individuals may have had sensitive personal, financial, and legal matter information exposed in addition to conventional identifiers. Data held by legal counsel can include material that is not easily changed, which may present identity theft and fraud risks that persist beyond the standard monitoring window.
