What happened
According to a notice filed with the Maine Attorney General, NetLine Corporation's continuous security monitoring detected suspicious activity involving one of its public-facing web servers. An investigation confirmed that, on April 20, 2026, an unknown threat actor accessed certain databases stored on that server without authorization. NetLine reports that it secured the affected server promptly and began a review to determine what information was involved and which individuals were affected.
NetLine completed its review and began mailing notification letters to potentially affected customers on May 27, 2026, roughly five weeks after the incident was discovered. The company is offering eligible recipients 24 months of complimentary identity-monitoring and identity-theft protection services through Cyberscout, a TransUnion company. The notice states that the only data element confirmed to have been exposed was the customer's name. NetLine has not publicly disclosed the total number of individuals affected, and our team is evaluating whether additional categories of information may have been involved.
Because the exposed records were associated with NetLine's B2B marketing and lead-generation activity, affected individuals may have business contact details circulating in connection with their names. Dapeer Law is reviewing whether NetLine maintained reasonable safeguards for the personal information in its systems and whether affected individuals may have claims under state privacy and consumer-protection laws.
