About

In May 2024, Advance Auto Parts experienced a data breach involving its cloud computing provider, potentially exposing the personal information of over 2.3 million people — including employees, job applicants, and others. A class action lawsuit was filed, alleging the company failed to properly safeguard this sensitive data.

Without admitting wrongdoing, Advance Auto Parts and its parent company, Advance Stores Co. Inc., agreed to a $10 million settlement to resolve the claims. The settlement provides financial compensation and free credit monitoring to those affected.

Eligible individuals can claim reimbursement for documented losses, cash payments, or identity protection services. California residents may receive additional compensation under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
