Lands' End Data Breach Class Action Settlement
Lands' End, Inc., the Wisconsin-based apparel retailer, agreed to settle a class action over a December 2024 cyberattack in which files containing names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license and passport information, and in some cases medical information may have been accessed. Anyone in the United States whose information was compromised in the incident can claim a $60 cash payment with no documentation or up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses, plus two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete credit monitoring with $1 million in fraud insurance. Claims are due October 22, 2026.

Do you qualify?
You are a Class Member if ALL of the following apply:
- You reside in the United States and your Private Information was compromised in the December 2024 data incident affecting Lands' End's computer systems.
- You are on Lands' End's list of affected individuals. The Settlement Administrator mailed each class member a postcard notice with a credit monitoring enrollment code, so if you received the postcard you are in the class.
- No documentation is needed for the $60 alternate cash payment or the two years of credit monitoring. Receipts or statements are required only if you claim reimbursement for out-of-pocket losses (up to $5,000).
- Excluded: Lands' End and its directors and officers; governmental entities; the judge in the case and the judge's immediate family and court staff; and anyone who timely and validly excludes themselves by October 7, 2026.

What happened
In December 2024, cybercriminals targeted the computer systems of Lands' End, Inc., the Dodgeville, Wisconsin apparel and home goods retailer, and may have accessed files containing personal information. According to the lawsuit, the affected files may have included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, driver's license and passport information, and, in limited cases, medical information. Plaintiffs Joseph Jones, Caitlin Brown, Jessica Pukala, Nathaniel Rychlik, Julia K. Pierson, and Mariah Lopez filed this class action in the Circuit Court for Iowa County, Wisconsin, alleging that Lands' End failed to adequately protect the information in its care and to notify affected individuals promptly.
Lands' End denies any wrongdoing and denies that it is liable. The Court has not decided whether the Plaintiffs or Lands' End is right. Both sides agreed to settle to avoid the cost and risk of a trial and to deliver benefits to class members without further delay. Because this is a claims-made settlement, Lands' End pays each approved claim and the cost of credit monitoring directly, and separately pays Class Counsel's fees and costs and the Class Representatives' service awards, so those amounts do not reduce what class members receive.

1. Confirm you are eligible
You qualify if you live in the United States and your Private Information was compromised in the December 2024 Lands' End data incident. Lands' End identified affected individuals from its records and the Settlement Administrator mailed each of them a postcard notice with a CyEx enrollment code. If you received a breach notification letter from Lands' End in 2025 or the settlement postcard, you are a class member.

2. Choose your benefits
Every class member can claim two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete, which monitors for fraud, identity theft, unauthorized financial transactions, and high-risk use of your personal information, and includes $1 million in financial fraud insurance and fraud resolution support. Your activation code becomes active once the settlement is final. In addition, choose one cash option: Cash Payment A, reimbursement of up to $5,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses incurred between December 6, 2024 and October 22, 2026 (identity theft or fraud losses, credit report or credit freeze fees, ID replacement costs, postage), with bank statements or receipts attached; or Cash Payment B, a one-time $60 alternate cash payment with no proof or explanation required.

3. File online or by mail
Submit the Claim Form online at LandsEndDataSettlement.com/form/claim by October 22, 2026, or download the printable Claim Form from the Important Documents page and mail it with any supporting documents (postmarked by October 22, 2026) to: Lands' End Data Incident Settlement, c/o Settlement Administrator, P.O. 4. Receive your payment
Payments are issued after the Court grants final approval at the November 6, 2026 Final Approval Hearing and any appeals are resolved, which can take a year or more. Cash is sent in the payment format you select on the Claim Form, and your CyEx Financial Shield Complete code activates once the settlement becomes final. No follow-up is required once your claim is submitted, but keep your contact information current with the Settlement Administrator.

The Final Approval Hearing is scheduled for November 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Central at the Circuit Court for Iowa County, Wisconsin, 222 N. Iowa Street, Dodgeville, WI 53533. The date and time may change without further notice, so check LandsEndDataSettlement.com before traveling.
Where the money is going
This is a claims-made settlement with no common fund. Lands' End pays each approved documented loss claim (up to $5,000) or $60 alternate cash payment, and covers two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete for every class member who enrolls. Class Counsel's fees and costs and the Class Representatives' service awards are paid by Lands' End separately, so they do not reduce class member payments.
All amounts listed above are pending and subject to final court approval at the November 6, 2026 Final Approval Hearing. The Court may award less than the fees and service awards requested. Because this is a claims-made settlement, the $60 alternate cash payment is a fixed expected amount and is not reduced by the number of claims filed.
Common questions
How much money will I receive?
It depends on the option you choose. Cash Payment B is a one-time $60 payment that requires no documentation. Cash Payment A reimburses documented out-of-pocket losses incurred between December 6, 2024 and October 22, 2026, up to $5,000 per person, and requires receipts or statements. You can pick only one cash option, but every class member can also enroll in two years of CyEx Financial Shield Complete credit monitoring with $1 million in fraud insurance regardless of which cash option they choose. Because this is a claims-made settlement, the $60 payment is not diluted by the number of claims.
Do I need to submit proof of purchase?
Not for the basic benefits. The $60 alternate cash payment and the two years of credit monitoring require no proof or explanation, just a completed Claim Form. Documentation is required only for Cash Payment A (documented losses up to $5,000): attach bank statements, receipts, invoices, or similar records showing the expense and that it resulted from the data incident. Notes you write yourself can help explain your records but are not enough on their own. Losses already reimbursed by a bank, insurer, or other third party are not eligible.
What if I didn’t receive a notice?
The class is defined by whose information was compromised in the incident, and Lands' End identified those people from its records, so most class members received both a breach notification letter and a settlement postcard. If you did not receive a postcard but got a Lands' End breach letter in 2025, or were a Lands' End customer or employee whose information you believe was involved, contact the Settlement Administrator at 1-833-421-7243 or info@LandsEndDataSettlement.com to ask whether you are on the class list and to request a replacement enrollment code.
Does staying in the class affect my right to sue later?
Yes. Unless you mail a signed Request for Exclusion postmarked by October 7, 2026 to Lands' End Data Incident Settlement, c/o Settlement Administrator, P.O. Box 25226, Santa Ana, CA 92799-9958, you remain in the class and release Lands' End from the claims relating to the December 2024 data incident described in Section XI of the Settlement Agreement. If you opt out, you receive no cash or credit monitoring but keep your right to sue Lands' End on your own. You may only exclude yourself, not anyone else.
When will payments be sent out?
The Court will hold the Final Approval Hearing on November 6, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Central in Dodgeville, Wisconsin. Payments are distributed only after the Court grants final approval and any appeals are resolved; the Settlement Administrator has said it cannot predict whether appeals will be filed, and the process can take a year or more. Cash is sent in the payment method you select on the Claim Form, and your credit monitoring activation code becomes active once the settlement is final.
