SportsEdTV, Inc. agreed to a $500,000 settlement over allegations that it disclosed subscribers' video-viewing information to third parties, including Facebook, without consent, in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act and California law. - You reside in the United States.
- Excluded: SportsEdTV and its officers, directors, agents, and affiliates; SportsEdTV's past and present employees; and the judge presiding over the case.

What happened
Named plaintiff Nick Balestrieri alleged that SportsEdTV, Inc. disclosed subscribers' personally identifiable information, including records of the videos they watched, to third parties such as Facebook without consent, in violation of the Video Privacy Protection Act (VPPA) and the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA).
SportsEdTV denies the allegations and denies any wrongdoing or liability. The parties agreed to settle to avoid the cost, risk, and time of continued litigation. As part of the settlement, SportsEdTV has deactivated the Facebook Pixel on its website and agreed to stop sharing customer transaction data with third parties except as permitted by the VPPA and California law.

You qualify if you subscribed to SportsEdTV and watched videos on its website between May 9, 2023 and May 16, 2025, and reside in the United States.

2. Tally up your claim
Payments are calculated pro rata from what remains of the $500,000 fund after fees, costs, and the incentive award are deducted. California residents receive twice the standard pro rata share because of an additional claim available under state law.

3. File online or by mail
Submit the Claim Form online at sportsedtvsettlement.com/form/claim by September 10, 2026, or mail a paper Claim Form (postmarked by September 10, 2026) to: Balestrieri v. SportsEdTV, Inc., SportsEdTV Privacy Settlement, P.O. Box 25226, Santa Ana, CA 92799.

4. Receive your payment
Payments are issued after the Court grants final approval at the February 8, 2027 Fairness Hearing and any appeals are resolved. Payments are made by check unless you elect Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal; checks expire 90 days after issuance. No follow-up is required once your claim is submitted.

Where the money is going
This is a common settlement fund. Attorneys' fees and expenses, the Class Representative's incentive award, and notice and administration costs come out of the $500,000 before payments are calculated for class members.
All amounts listed above are pending and subject to final court approval at the Fairness Hearing. The Court may award less than the amounts requested. Payments will be calculated on a pro rata basis depending on how many class members file valid claims, with California residents receiving twice the standard share.

Do I need to submit proof of purchase?
No proof of purchase is required. SportsEdTV identified the 1,264 eligible subscribers through its own records, so no supporting documentation is needed to file a claim.
What if I didn’t receive a notice?
Yes. If you subscribed to SportsEdTV and watched videos on its website between May 9, 2023 and May 16, 2025, you can still submit a Claim Form even if you did not receive a notice directly.
Does staying in the class affect my right to sue later?
If you stay in the Class and do not exclude yourself, you give up the right to sue SportsEdTV and the Released Parties over the claims resolved by this settlement, whether or not you submit a claim. To opt out, mail a written exclusion request postmarked by September 25, 2026.
When will payments be sent out?
Payments are expected approximately 15 days after the settlement receives final approval at the February 8, 2027 Fairness Hearing and any appeals are resolved.
