About

General Motors has agreed to a $35 million class action settlement to resolve allegations that it sold certain Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra diesel trucks with defective Bosch CP4 high-pressure fuel pumps.

The lawsuit alleges these CP4 pumps are not compatible with U.S. diesel fuel and are prone to catastrophic failure, often requiring costly repairs and potentially damaging the engine.

Plaintiffs argue that GM failed to disclose this design defect, violating state consumer protection and warranty laws.

GM denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the lawsuit to avoid the uncertainty and expense of continued litigation.

The class action is officially titled:
Chapman, et al. v. General Motors LLC, Case No. 2:19-cv-12333-TGB-DRG
