What happened
Washington's Equal Pay and Opportunities Act (RCW 49.58.110) requires employers to include the wage scale or salary range in job postings. Plaintiff Jeffrey Hill alleged that Rivian's Washington job postings consistently omitted this required pay information, leaving applicants without the wage transparency the law is designed to provide. Plaintiff contended that these omissions affected all individuals who applied for Rivian positions in Washington during the class period.
Rivian denies the allegations and denies any wrongdoing or liability. The parties agreed to settle to avoid the cost, uncertainty, and time of continued litigation. The settlement covers Rivian, LLC; Rivian Insurance Services, LLC; and Rivian Automotive, LLC.

Common questions
How much money will I receive?
Every class member who files a valid, timely claim receives an equal share of the net settlement fund. The total fund ranges from approximately $997,000 to $1.5 million depending on how many people submit claims. After attorneys' fees ($441,792), costs ($5,000), and the class representative's service award (up to $25,000) are deducted, the remainder is divided equally among all claimants. Your estimated payment amount was included on the Claim Form mailed with your Notice.
Do I need to submit proof of purchase?
No documentation is required. You only need the Unique ID and PIN from the notice you received. If you did not receive a notice but believe you qualify, contact Simpluris at (833) 386-6508 to verify eligibility.
What if I didn’t receive a notice?
You may still file a claim if you did not receive a mailed notice. Contact the Settlement Administrator at (833) 386-6508 or info@EPOASettlementRLLC.com to confirm your eligibility and obtain your Unique ID and PIN.
Does staying in the class affect my right to sue later?
By staying in the class and receiving payment, you release Rivian, LLC; Rivian Insurance Services, LLC; and Rivian Automotive, LLC from all claims related to Washington wage disclosure violations during the class period (January 1, 2023 through March 25, 2026). To preserve your right to sue Rivian on your own, you must opt out by June 22, 2026.
When will payments be sent out?
Payments are mailed after the Court grants final approval at the July 24, 2026 Fairness Hearing and after any appeals are resolved. The appeal period can take several months to over a year. Checks will expire 180 days after issuance.
