What happened

Brandt Equities, LP learned of two cybersecurity incidents, on or around November 8, 2025 and November 22, 2025, in which criminal third parties accessed its network without authorization. The information involved may have included names, addresses, driver's license numbers, and Social Security numbers. This lawsuit, Andrews, et al. v. Brandt Equities, LP, claims Brandt failed to adequately protect that information and is pending in the District Court for Cass County, North Dakota.

Brandt denies wrongdoing and liability, and the Court has not decided who is right. The parties agreed to settle to avoid the cost and risk of further litigation.
