What happened
A class action lawsuit alleged that The Walt Disney Company violated federal antitrust law and various state antitrust and consumer-protection laws by engaging in conduct designed to raise the prices of streaming live pay TV services, causing YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream subscribers to pay more than they otherwise would have.
Disney denies the allegations and denies any wrongdoing or liability. No court has made any determination of wrongdoing. The parties agreed to settle to avoid the cost, risk, and uncertainty of continued litigation. In addition to the $50 million cash fund, Disney has also agreed to certain non-monetary relief related to its business practices.

Where the money is going
This is a non-reversionary common fund. Attorneys' fees (up to 30%), service awards, and notice and administration costs come out of the $50 million before payments are calculated for class members. 90% of the net fund is allocated to claimants in states with indirect-purchaser antitrust laws (Repealer Jurisdictions); the remaining 10% goes to claimants in other states.
All amounts listed above are pending and subject to final court approval at the Fairness Hearing. The Court may award less than the amounts requested. The per-person payment amount depends on how many valid claims are filed and the length of each claimant's subscription.
Common questions
How much money will I receive?
Your payment is calculated pro rata based on how long you subscribed to YouTube TV and/or DirecTV Stream between April 1, 2019 and March 31, 2026. The longer your subscription, the larger your share of the net fund. 90% of the net fund goes to claimants in states with indirect-purchaser antitrust laws; 10% goes to claimants in other states. The exact dollar amount per person depends on how many valid claims are filed.
Do I need to submit proof of purchase?
No documentation is required to file a claim. You will need to provide information identifying your subscription account (such as the email address associated with your YouTube TV or DirecTV Stream account). No receipts or billing records are needed.
What if I didn’t receive a notice?
You can still file a claim even if you did not receive a mailed or emailed notice. Visit OnlineTVSettlement.com to submit your claim online by September 8, 2026, as long as you were a YouTube TV or DirecTV Stream subscriber during the class period.
Does staying in the class affect my right to sue later?
By staying in the settlement, you give up your right to sue Disney for any claims arising from the anticompetitive pricing allegations described in the lawsuit. To preserve your right to sue on your own, you must opt out by mailing a written exclusion request to the Settlement Administrator, postmarked by September 8, 2026.
When will payments be sent out?
Payments will be issued after the Court grants final approval at the January 14, 2027 Fairness Hearing and any appeals are resolved. Appeals can add a year or more to the timeline. No follow-up is required once you have submitted your claim; check OnlineTVSettlement.com for updates.
