What happened
This lawsuit, In re: Woodloch Pines Data Breach Litigation, claims that Woodloch Pines, Inc., Woodloch Spa Resort, LP (doing business as The Lodge at Woodloch), and The Woodloch Lodge and Spa, LLC failed to adequately protect personal information in a May 2024 targeted cyberattack on Woodloch's computer systems. Information that may have been accessed includes names, Social Security numbers, financial and payment card information, medical information, and health insurance information. The case is pending in the Court of Common Pleas of Wayne County, Pennsylvania, and the Class Representatives are Christopher Rhatigan and Amanda Young.
Woodloch denies that it did anything wrong, and the Court has not decided who is right. The parties agreed to settle the case to avoid the costs, risks, and uncertainty of continued litigation.

Where the money is going
The settlement website does not state a total settlement fund. Woodloch will pay approved claims for documented losses and the alternative cash payment, plus credit monitoring. Woodloch will separately pay Class Counsel's attorneys' fees and costs and service awards for the Class Representatives, subject to Court approval. The website does not describe any pro rata adjustment.
Fees, costs, and service awards are subject to Court approval at the February 24, 2027 Final Approval Hearing, and the Court may award less. Expenses already reimbursed by a third party are not eligible, and self-prepared notes alone are not sufficient documentation.
Common questions
