What happened
This lawsuit, Samiotes, et al. v. DotHouse Health, Inc., claims that DotHouse Health failed to adequately protect patient information during a cybersecurity incident in November 2022. An unauthorized third party accessed files that may have included names, addresses, dates of birth, medical record numbers, Social Security numbers, treatment information, and health insurance information. The case is pending in the Superior Court for Suffolk County, Massachusetts.
DotHouse Health denies that it did anything wrong, and the Court has not decided who is right. The parties agreed to settle to avoid the cost and risk of continued litigation.

Where the money is going
DotHouse Health will establish a $725,000 Settlement Fund. Court-approved attorneys' fees and costs, service awards, and settlement administration costs are paid from the fund first, and the remainder pays Class Member benefits. Money left after documented loss claims and monitoring is divided equally among people who choose the pro rata cash payment.
Fee and service award amounts are requests subject to Court approval at the January 19, 2027 Final Approval Hearing. The pro rata cash payment is an estimate and the final amount depends on the number of valid claims.
Common questions
How much money will I receive?
You may choose reimbursement of up to $2,000 for documented out-of-pocket losses tied to the Data Incident, or a one-time pro rata cash payment currently estimated at $40. All Class Members may also claim two years of CyEx Medical Shield Complete monitoring with $1 million in financial fraud insurance. Final amounts depend on the number of valid claims.
Do I need to submit proof of purchase?
The pro rata cash payment requires no proof. Documented loss claims require proof such as bank statements or receipts; self-made notes alone are not enough, and expenses already reimbursed by a third party cannot be claimed.
What if I didn’t receive a notice?
Notices went to people DotHouse Health notified of the Data Incident in or around July 2025. If you believe you are in the Class but did not get a notice, get more information from the settlement website directly at DotHouseDataSettlement.com or call (833) 296-0911.
Does staying in the class affect my right to sue later?
Yes. If the settlement is approved and you remain in the Class, you cannot join other lawsuits against DotHouse Health about the issues covered by the settlement. The released claims are described in Section XIII of the Settlement Agreement.
When will payments be sent out?
Payments are distributed only after the Court grants final approval at or after the January 19, 2027 hearing and any appeals are resolved. Check DotHouseDataSettlement.com for updates.
