What happened

The lawsuit claims Albany Park (operated by Edloe Finch LLC) deceptively advertised inflated or misleading discount prices for furniture and home goods on its website, AlbanyPark.com. Plaintiff alleges the advertised discounts were false or exaggerated, causing customers to believe they were getting a better deal than they actually were. The complaint asserts violations of the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act, the California False Advertising Law, and the California Unfair Competition Law, as well as common law fraud and unjust enrichment.

Albany Park denies all allegations and denies any wrongdoing or liability. Both sides agreed to settle to avoid the cost, risk, and uncertainty of further litigation. The settlement covers approximately 130,382 class members nationwide.

  • 2. Choose your benefit

Every class member automatically receives a $115 store credit for AlbanyPark.com, valid for 18 months after activation. The credit is freely transferable, has no blackout dates, and can be combined with other offers (one credit per transaction). If you prefer cash, you must file a Claim Form and elect the Cash Benefit.

  • 3. File online or by mail if you want cash

To receive $115 in cash (via electronic payment or check), submit a Claim Form online at ChiechiClassActionSettlement.com/Login by August 18, 2026, or mail a paper Claim Form postmarked by August 18, 2026 to: Chiechi v. Where the money is going

The $14,993,930 settlement fund is paid entirely to class members. Attorneys' fees (up to $1,500,000), a $5,000 service award to the Class Representative, and notice and administration costs are paid separately by Albany Park and do not reduce the amount available to class members. Each of the approximately 130,382 class members receives a fixed $115 benefit.

Total benefit pool for class members $14,993,930
Attorneys' fees & expenses (paid separately by Defendant) Up to $1,500,000
Service award to Class Representative (paid separately) $5,000
Notice & administration costs (paid separately by Defendant) To be set by Court
Fixed benefit per class member (approx. 130,382 members) $115 each

Attorney fee and service award amounts are pending final court approval and may be reduced. Because fees and costs are paid by the defendant separately from the class fund, the $115 per-member benefit is not affected by the volume of claims filed.

Common questions

How much money will I receive?

$115 per class member. Every qualifying class member automatically receives a $115 store credit for AlbanyPark.com, valid for 18 months after activation. If you prefer cash, submit a Claim Form by August 18, 2026 to elect a $115 electronic payment or check. Because attorneys' fees are paid separately by the defendant, the fixed $115 benefit per member will not be reduced by the volume of claims filed.

Do I need to submit proof of purchase?

No documentation is required to receive the automatic $115 store credit. To elect cash instead, you must submit a Claim Form and provide enough information to allow the Settlement Administrator to verify that you made at least one purchase from AlbanyPark.com during the Class Period (June 21, 2020 through October 31, 2024). If you cannot provide that verification, you will receive the store credit by default.

What if I didn’t receive a notice?

You can still file a claim even if you did not receive a notice. Go to the claim form at ChiechiClassActionSettlement.com/Login. Class members were identified through Albany Park's purchase records, but if your records were not included you may still be eligible. Contact the Settlement Administrator at 1-888-593-1070 or ChiechiClassActionSettlement@cptgroup.com with questions.

Does staying in the class affect my right to sue later?

By staying in the settlement (or doing nothing), you give up the right to sue Albany Park and its affiliates over any claims related to its pricing, advertising, marketing, or sale practices during the Class Period. To preserve your right to sue independently, you must submit a written opt-out request postmarked by August 18, 2026.

When will payments be sent out?

The Court has scheduled a Final Approval Hearing on October 23, 2026. If the Court approves the settlement, awards will be activated and distributed after all appeals (if any) are resolved. The appeal process can take a year or more. Store credits are activated upon distribution; cash payments are issued electronically or by check (checks expire 180 days after issuance).
