What happened
This lawsuit, Murray, et al. v. Vida Y Salud-Health Systems, Inc., concerns an October 2025 data security incident. Plaintiffs allege that files containing private information were accessed, which may have included names, Social Security numbers, claims information, diagnosis or condition details, and credit card or bank account numbers. The case is pending in the 293rd District Court for Zavala County, Texas.

Common questions
How much money will I receive?
You can claim up to $3,500 for documented out-of-pocket losses and up to $80 for lost time (four hours at $20 per hour), or a one-time $50 alternative cash payment instead of any other cash payment. You can also enroll in two years of medical identity monitoring with $1 million in medical identity theft insurance. All cash payments are capped at $500,000 in total and may be reduced pro rata.
Do I need to submit proof of purchase?
Out-of-pocket loss claims require proof such as bank statements or receipts; self-made notes alone are not enough, and amounts already reimbursed cannot be claimed. Lost time must have been spent on incident-related tasks. The $50 alternative cash payment requires no proof.
What if I didn’t receive a notice?
If you believe your information was impacted but you did not receive a notice, get more information from the settlement website directly at VSIDataSettlement.com, call (866) 221-3193, or email info@VSIDataIncident.com.
Does staying in the class affect my right to sue later?
Yes. Unless you exclude yourself by January 4, 2027, you will be bound by the settlement and cannot sue VSHSI over the issues the settlement covers, whether or not you file a claim. The full release is in Section X of the Settlement Agreement on the settlement website.
When will payments be sent out?
The Court will hold the Final Approval Hearing on February 2, 2027. Payments are made only after final approval and any appeals are resolved, which can take a year or more. Check the settlement website for updates.
