Doxim, Inc. agreed to a $5,500,000 settlement resolving claims over a data incident around December 30, 2023, in which an unauthorized actor gained access to Doxim's files, including private information collected or maintained by Doxim and its credit union clients, Credit Union ONE and Beacon Credit Union. Settlement Class Members who were sent notice can claim up to $5,000 for documented fraud or identity theft losses, a $100 flat cash payment with no documentation required, or one year of free credit monitoring.

Do you qualify?
You are a Class Member if ALL of the following apply:
- You are a living individual residing in the United States who was identified by Doxim and sent notice by Doxim or one of its credit union clients, including Credit Union ONE or Beacon Credit Union, that your private information was impacted in the December 30, 2023 data incident.
- Private information involved includes names, addresses, financial account numbers, and Social Security numbers collected or maintained by Doxim or its credit union clients.
- Excluded: Directors, officers, and employees of Doxim, Credit Union ONE, or Beacon Credit Union; the judge assigned to the case, that judge's immediate family, and Court staff; and any Settlement Class Member who timely and validly opts out of the Settlement.

What happened
Plaintiffs filed this class action against Doxim, Inc., Credit Union ONE, and Beacon Credit Union over a data incident that occurred on or around December 30, 2023, in which an unauthorized actor gained access to Doxim's files, including Settlement Class Members' private information. The private information involved includes information collected or maintained by Doxim or Doxim's credit union clients, and may include names, addresses, financial account numbers, and Social Security numbers.
Doxim, Credit Union ONE, and Beacon Credit Union deny the legal claims and deny any wrongdoing or liability. The Court has not decided who is right. The parties agreed to settle the case to avoid the cost, risk, and time of continued litigation.
How to file a claim

1. Confirm you are eligible
You qualify if you were identified by Doxim and sent notice by Doxim or one of its credit union clients that your private information was impacted in the December 30, 2023 data incident.

2. Choose your payment option
Submit documentation of fraud or identity theft losses reasonably traced to the incident for up to $5,000 (Cash Payment A), or take a flat cash payment currently estimated at $100 with no documentation required (Cash Payment B). Either option can also include one year of Credit Monitoring. Cash payments are subject to a pro rata increase or decrease based on the total value of all valid claims.

3. File online or by mail
Submit the Claim Form online at doximdatasecuritysettlement.com/Login by October 13, 2026, or mail a paper Claim Form (postmarked by October 13, 2026) to: Doxim Data Incident, Settlement Administrator, P.O. Box 2509, Portland, OR 97208-2509.

4. Receive your payment
Payments are issued after the Court grants final approval at the October 28, 2026 Final Approval Hearing and any appeals are resolved. The appeal process can take a year or more. No follow-up is required once your claim is submitted.

The Final Approval Hearing is scheduled for October 28, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. before the Honorable Terrence G. Berg at the Theodore Levin U.S. Courthouse, 231 W. Lafayette Blvd., Detroit, MI 48226. The Court may move the hearing, so check DoximDataSecuritySettlement.com for updates before traveling.
Where the money is going
This is a common fund. Attorneys' fees and costs and Service Awards come out of the $5,500,000 before payments are calculated for class members.
All amounts listed above are pending and subject to final court approval at the Final Approval Hearing. The Court may award less than the amounts requested. If the amount of valid claims does not use the entire Net Settlement Fund, Cash Payments may be increased on a pro rata basis; if valid claims exceed what remains of the fund, Cash Payments will be reduced on a pro rata basis. Any residual funds are proposed to go to the Michigan State Bar Foundation as a cy pres recipient.
Common questions
How much money will I receive?
Settlement Class Members can choose Cash Payment A, reimbursement with documentation for fraud or identity theft losses reasonably traced to the data incident, up to $5,000, or Cash Payment B, a flat cash payment currently estimated at $100 with no documentation required. Either payment can be combined with one year of free Credit Monitoring. Because payments come from a shared $5,500,000 fund after fees, costs, and service awards, actual amounts may be adjusted up or down on a pro rata basis depending on how many valid claims are submitted.
Do I need to submit proof of purchase?
Cash Payment A requires reasonable documentation of losses, such as telephone records, receipts, and correspondence, including emails. If you do not submit reasonable documentation, or your Claim Form is found invalid by the Settlement Administrator and you do not cure it, your claim is processed as Cash Payment B, the estimated $100 payment that requires no proof.
What if I didn’t receive a notice?
The Settlement Class is defined as individuals who were identified by Doxim and sent notice by Doxim or one of its credit union clients that their private information was impacted in the December 30, 2023 data incident. If you believe you should have received notice but did not, contact the Settlement Administrator at 1-877-318-7817 or visit DoximDataSecuritySettlement.com to confirm whether you are a Settlement Class Member.
Does staying in the class affect my right to sue later?
Yes. Unless you mail a written, signed exclusion request postmarked by September 28, 2026, you stay in the Settlement Class and release your right to sue Doxim, Credit Union ONE, Beacon Credit Union, and the other Released Parties over the claims resolved in this lawsuit. When will payments be sent out?
The Court will hold the Final Approval Hearing on October 28, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. before Judge Terrence G. Berg in Detroit, Michigan. Payments are issued only after the Court grants final approval and any appeals are resolved, which can take a year or more.
