What happened

Sirva Relocation, LLC provides corporate relocation services. In September 2023, a targeted cyberattack on Sirva's computer systems allegedly gave unauthorized access to files containing private information, which may have included Social Security numbers, government ID numbers, financial account and card numbers, biometric data, online account credentials, health information, and employment, loan, and mortgage information. Plaintiff Rosalyn Rivera filed this class action in the Circuit Court of DuPage County, Illinois.

Sirva denies wrongdoing, and the Court has not decided who is right. The parties agreed to settle to avoid the cost and risk of continued litigation. Class Counsel's fees and the service award are paid by Sirva separately from the class benefits.

Where the money is going

There is no common fund. Sirva's payments for valid claims, alternative cash payments, notice and administration expenses, and taxes are subject to an aggregate cap of $260,000. Class Counsel's attorneys' fees and costs and the service award are paid by Sirva separately and do not reduce class benefits.

Aggregate cap (claims, cash payments, administration, taxes) $260,000
Less: Notice & administration costs Not disclosed
Attorneys' fees and costs (paid separately by Sirva) Up to $325,000
Service award (paid separately by Sirva) Up to $2,500
Available for class member benefits $260,000 less admin costs

Fees and the service award are subject to Court approval at the January 6, 2027 Final Approval Hearing and are paid outside the $260,000 cap. Alternative cash payments are estimates ($50 for Group 1, $10 for Group 2) and may be less depending on the number of claims.

Common questions

How much money will I receive?

It depends on your group and what you claim. Documented ordinary losses are reimbursed up to $500 and extraordinary fraud losses up to $4,000. Instead, Group 1 members can choose a cash payment expected to be $50 and Group 2 members one expected to be $10. All benefits are subject to a $260,000 aggregate cap, so amounts are not guaranteed.

Do I need to submit proof of purchase?

Only for loss reimbursement, which needs documentation such as receipts; self-made notes alone are not enough. Credit monitoring and the alternative cash payments do not require proof.

What if I didn’t receive a notice?

Notices were mailed starting October 30, 2026. If you believe your information was involved but did not receive a notice, get more information from the settlement website directly at SirvaDataSettlement.com or call (833) 200-6669.

Does staying in the class affect my right to sue later?

Yes. Unless you opt out by December 29, 2026, you cannot sue Sirva or join another lawsuit over the issues resolved by this settlement, whether or not you file a claim. The released claims are described in Section VI of the Settlement Agreement.

When will payments be sent out?

The Final Approval Hearing is January 6, 2027. Payments are made after final approval and the resolution of any appeals. Check SirvaDataSettlement.com for updates.
