What happened

The lawsuit concerns a targeted cyberattack on Finastra's computer systems in October 2024 (the "Data Incident"), in which certain files that contained private information were accessed. According to the settlement website, those files may have contained names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and financial account numbers. The Settlement Class includes people in the United States who were sent notice by Finastra that their Private Information may have been impacted.

Finastra denies that it did anything wrong, and the Court has not decided who is right. The parties agreed to settle to avoid the cost, risk, and delay of continued litigation. The $3,125,000 fund first pays court-approved attorneys' fees and costs, service awards, and administration costs, and the remainder pays settlement benefits.

Where the money is going

Finastra will pay $3,125,000 into a Settlement Fund. Court-approved attorneys' fees and costs, service awards, and administration costs are paid first. The net remaining money pays credit monitoring, documented loss reimbursements, and pro rata cash payments, which are equal shares of what remains.

Total settlement fund $3,125,000
Less: Attorneys' fees and costs Up to $1,182,000
Less: Service awards (4 Class Representatives) Up to $10,000
Less: Notice & administration costs To be set by Court
Documented out-of-pocket losses, per person Up to $2,500
Credit monitoring 1 year, $1 million insurance

All amounts listed above are pending and subject to final court approval at the Final Approval Hearing. The Court may award less than the amounts requested. The pro rata cash payment amount is not fixed and depends on the number of valid claims.

Common questions

How much money will I receive?

You can claim reimbursement of documented losses up to $2,500, or instead a one-time pro rata cash payment, which is an equal share of what remains in the $3,125,000 fund after fees, costs, service awards, administration, and other benefits. The pro rata amount is not yet known. All class members can also claim one year of credit monitoring.

Do I need to submit proof of purchase?

Not for the pro rata cash payment or credit monitoring. Reimbursement of documented losses requires proof, such as receipts or account statements, showing out-of-pocket losses related to the Data Incident.

What if I didn’t receive a notice?

The Settlement Class is limited to people who were sent notice by Finastra. The online Claim Form asks for the LoginID and PIN printed on that notice. If you cannot find your notice or LoginID and PIN, contact the Settlement Administrator at (866) 719-4418 or info@FinastraDataSettlement.com before the November 27, 2026 deadline.

Does staying in the class affect my right to sue later?

If you stay in the settlement, you give up the right to sue Finastra over the claims released by this settlement, whether or not you file a claim. To keep those rights, you must opt out by November 13, 2026.

When will payments be sent out?

Payments come after the Court grants final approval at the December 14, 2026 Final Approval Hearing and after any appeals are resolved. An appeal can add a year or more to that timeline.
