Google Assistant Privacy Settlement: $68M for Smart Speaker & Pixel Users Recorded by "False Accepts"

Google will pay $68 million to settle claims that Google Assistant secretly recorded private conversations through unintended activations and shared audio with third-party review vendors. U.S. users who bought a Google-Made Device (Home, Nest Hub, Pixel) or whose communications were captured between May 18, 2016 and March 19, 2026 can file a claim by August 27, 2026.

Shimano Crankset Class Action Settlement

Shimano, Specialized, Trek, and Giant reached a class action settlement of In re Shimano Crankset Litigation over Hollowtech II cranksets manufactured before July 2019. Final approval was granted February 2, 2026. Class members get an Extended Express Warranty through July 29, 2027 automatically; documented out-of-pocket replacement and installation costs are reimbursable. Claim deadline: August 4, 2026.

Amazon agreed to a $2.5 billion FTC settlement over alleged ROSCA violations in Prime enrollment and cancellation flows. Eligible U.S. consumers who paid for Prime between June 23, 2019 and June 23, 2025 can claim a refund of up to $51 by July 27, 2026.

Sealy 1250 Thread Count Settlement: $5 Per Product, Up To $40 Without Proof of Purchase

American Textile Company agreed to a $750,000 settlement over allegations that it falsely advertised the thread count of Sealy-branded 1250 thread count bedding. U.S. consumers who bought qualifying products between October 19, 2016 and October 30, 2025 can claim $5 per product — up to $40 per household without proof of purchase, or unlimited with proof. Claims close May 12, 2026.

State Farm Alabama Total Loss Fees Class Action Settlement

State Farm agreed to a per-claim settlement (no common fund) over allegations it underpaid Alabama insureds on first-party auto total loss claims by failing to pay full Purchasing Fees. Eligible Alabama policyholders with a covered total loss claim paid between November 7, 2018 and February 10, 2026 can submit a Claim Form to receive $20.50, with no documentation required. The claim deadline is July 15, 2026.

Eureka Casino Data Breach Class Action Settlement: Up to $5,000 (Plus $100 for California)

Rancho Mesquite Casino (dba Eureka Casino Hotel) agreed to a $1 million settlement over a November 2022 data breach that exposed Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, passport numbers, and driver's license numbers. Mitsubishi Outlander Hood Flutter Class Action Settlement (2022 Models): Free Hood Replacement and Refunds, Claim by July 30, 2026

Mitsubishi Motors North America agreed to extend warranty coverage and reimburse past hood repair and rental costs for owners and lessees of certain 2022 Mitsubishi Outlander vehicles after allegations that the hoods flutter and bounce while driving. Class membership is set by VIN, free hood replacement at any authorized Mitsubishi dealer is available for 18 months starting May 1, 2026, and reimbursement claims for past out-of-pocket costs must be submitted by July 30, 2026.
